For the past seven and a half years, Kirsten Gappelberg has served as the global Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Mary Kay, headquartered in Plano, Texas, where she develops the corporate framework and provides strategic guidance to 35 international subsidiaries. She is also responsible for communicating a consistent corporate voice through messaging and branding on all philanthropic initiatives.
In addition, Kirsten develops, executes and communicates programs in the United States. She develops marketing materials for the Mary Kay independent sales force of over 600,000. And she communicates with 5,000 employees globally on the company’s efforts to give back in the community and writes website, social media and blog content to engage millions of fans both in the U.S. and around the world.
Kirsten also drives the company’s sustainability efforts—Pink Doing Green—leading a cross-functional team of employees to drive corporate strategy and ensure alignment.
Kirsten is very involved in the community serving in multiple roles: Executive Board Member of Community Partners of Dallas, Executive Board Member and Marketing Committee Chair for Rainbow Days, Inc., and an active member of the Junior League of Dallas.
For the past six years Kirsten has been an active member and leader in the DFW Corporate Citizenship Network, an organization that brings together professionals from across the D/FW Metroplex responsible for corporate philanthropy, volunteerism and sustainability programs.
Corporate Responsibility Officer and Executive Director, WorldVentures Foundation
In her dual role as the WorldVentures Corporate Responsibility Officer and Executive Director of WorldVentures Foundation, Gwyneth Lloyd is working with a dynamic team to create positive change for children and communities in 25 countries by attracting our global community to volunteer and fundraise. This is accomplished through VolunTours (vacations with a purpose), local Volunteer Days around the world, and DreamCourts (basketball courts that provide a safe, inviting and inspiring place to learn valuable social and team skills). “Our goal is to leave communities better than when we found them. Our focus is on having a Heart to Serve.”
Gwyneth is leading the corporate responsibility initiative at WorldVentures, engaging members of each department at the world headquarters in Plano, Texas to contribute to the company’s overall goals.
Before joining WorldVentures, Gwyneth was the Chief Program Officer for Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas where she was accountable for the leadership of various programs, including: Membership, Volunteers, Girl Scout Cookies, Community Outreach, and Girl and Adult programs.
She served as a non-profit consultant for two years and 10 years doing non-profit work, including serving as the Chair and Capital Campaign Manager for Dallas Contemporary.
Director of Community Programs and Engagement
Debra Benton has been the Director of Community Programs and Engagement in the Southwest Airlines Communications and Outreach Department since January 2007. As such, Debra oversees Southwest’s community outreach efforts to establish Southwest as a part of every community it serves. She oversee programs such as the award-winning Adopt-A-Pilot volunteerism program, Southwest’s signature charitable program, Heart of the Community, and efforts to interact with Customers in fun and surprising ways such as the Southwest Porch at Bryant Park.
She also oversees a cross departmental committee focused on implementing the Sustainability and Citizenship strategy for Southwest and is part of the leadership team for the Communications and Strategic Outreach department. Benton has worked for Southwest Airlines for 20 years. She started out in Marketing where she was Director of Loyalty Marketing, overseeing the award-winning frequent flyer program, Rapid Rewards, and the Partner relationships affiliated with the program. Debra is also an Alumnus of the Culture Committee, an internal group dedicated to ensuring the development and maintenance of the famous Southwest Culture.
Debra was selected to be part of Leadership Texas class of 2006, a program of the Foundation for Women’s Resources. It is the premier statewide women’s leadership program. Leadership Texas provides valuable education and training to Texas women leaders who seek to improve their leadership skills and expand their knowledge of the diverse issues, dynamics and cultures that impact the State of Texas. She has also served on the board of The 500, Inc. and directed ARTFEST, an outdoor arts festival that raises money for arts of Dallas. Debra served as Chairman of the Plano Public Library Advisory Board in 2015 for the city of Plano, Texas, where she resides.
Debra is married to professional photographer, Barry Benton of Gittings, and is mother to two sons, Drew and Jason.
Public Relations Manager and Corporate Responsibility Advocate
Connie is an accomplished public relations and personal branding professional, currently serving as the Public Relations Manager for WorldVentures and the WorldVentures Foundation. In addition, she is working with Gwyneth Lloyd, WorldVentures Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer to develop and implement the company’s Corporate Responsibility program.
Before joining WorldVentures Connie was the owner of CMarie Marketing Studio, an award-winning boutique marketing and promotions agency that provided branding, content creation and management, digital and print creative services, and P.R. to high-profile individuals, book authors, and small to mid-sized businesses in the software solutions, interior building products, higher education, and business consulting industries in Charlottesville, Va., Dallas, Tex., and Orange County, Calif.
She spent 15 years in the hospitality industry as a sales leader in a variety of hotels across the country.
