Greg graduated from Lamar University with a BBA in accounting and a minor in economics in 1979. From 1974 through 1979, he was president of a closely held, family-owned corporation which was diversified in its business endeavors. In 1979, Greg joined the audit department of the Houston office of Benson, Wells & Co., a regional CPA firm. The Houston office withdrew from the regional firm in 1980 and formed Shelby, Rucksdashel and Jones. Greg continued with the new firm.
In 1984, Greg opened the Dallas office of Shelby, Rucksdashel and Jones as partner-in-charge. He continued as an audit and consulting partner and partner-in-charge of the Dallas office until 1989. Greg left the firm in 1989 to set up his own practice. In 1990, he became the shareholder in charge of audit, consulting, and financial reporting engagements for the firm of Chapman, Hext & Co., P.C.
Greg has had extensive experience in the financial reporting, consulting, and litigation support areas of a public accounting practice. He has assisted a variety of corporate and individual clients regarding issues related to start-up companies, sale of companies, financial reporting issues, bank and equity financing, relationships, and a variety of other issues faced by individual and corporate entities. His litigation support experience includes both criminal and civil cases.
Currently, Greg oversees the activities of the North Dallas Investment Group as they relate to both investors and presenters. He chairs the evaluation committee for review of business plans.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and various civic and religious organizations. In October 1999, Greg was selected by Rick Perry, Lieutenant Governor of Texas, to serve on the Texas Small Business Advisory Council. Greg, his wife, Kimberly, and son, Preston, reside in Plano. |
